A Florida customizing shop got its hands on the EV Hummer and birthed the (maybe) bullet and weatherproof “Strikeforce”

Some cars are so hotly anticipated that people happily wait years for their arrival, and when they finally hit driveways and dealers, they can make even more noise. Sometimes, the aftermarket can latch onto those examples and take a bit of a ride with them. Not many cars have made as much noise entering the market in the last year or two as the new GMC Hummer EV. In a bit of a surprise, though, the aftermarket has not seemed to have much of an interest in the new Hummer. Unless you have extremely deep pockets and live in Florida, that is. SoFlo Jeeps has gotten their hands on an Edition 1 version of the behemoth EV and have made it right at home by the beach with an extreme custom.

That is down to the modifications, the most obvious being the paint. Actually, the paint is not even real paint but an epoxy coating with “Army Green” kevlar fibers mixed in for the body and black on the trim pieces. Yes, that is the same sort of material used in bullet-proof vests. SoFlo did not comment if the car is technically bullet-proof, but did say, “the coating is perfect for deflecting any off-road projectiles.” So, maybe don’t take a machine gun or grenade launcher to it, which should be said considering this comes from Florida.
To make the Hummer EV even more at home on the beaches or everglades SoFlo added some off-road modifications as well, including a four-inch lift kit along and massive 38-inch Milestar Patagonia M/T tires wrapped around 20-inch aluminum XD gold-painted wheels. If you are worried about the immense factory capabilities being diminished, don’t. It can still apparently crabwalk and go from 0-60 in about 3 seconds when the Watts To Freedom (WTF) mode is engaged thanks to about 1,000 horsepower.

SoFlo has even given its Hummer EV a new name, Strikeforce, which is equal parts childish and fantastic. That assessment could also be applied to the Strikeforce’s interior. The seats, headrests, dashboard, door panels, center console, and armrests have all been covered in marine-grade weatherproof material, in this case, styled to look like brown leather with diamond stitching and black accents. “Marine-grade” refers to the fact that this material is usually found on boats or other water-focused forms of transportation.
Florida can have some crazy weather ranging from the scorching sun to hurricanes, and traditional leather does not like those kinds of conditions. Using the weatherproof material means you can get the seats wet or remove the T-tops for extended periods and not worry about the custom seats. Although, we can’t help but feel like the interior would be more authentic if the seat material was styled after crocodile or snake leather.
SoFlo is already planning future GMC Hummer builds, and we’ll see what those will be named and how wild they will be. However, future reincarnations will reportedly be fitted with a windshield guard, a slant back bed cover, and a push bar over the grille, not to mention the likely alterations to the bumpers. We could also see a 6×6 version created by SoFlo’s sister company Apocolypse, which is focused on building six-wheeled versions of Jeep Wranglers, Gladiators, Ram trucks, and Ford Broncos. Who knows what those will cost, but judging that the Strikeforce starts at $219,000, we assume it would be absolutely absurd.
