Hankook Tire launches iON tires for EVs in the US
Global manufacturer Hankook Tire has brought its first products specifically designed for EVs to the US: the iON evo AS and iON evo AS SUV.
Available in 26 sizes and rim diameters, the tires were produced using Hankook’s EVolution technology, which, according to the company, focuses on factors like tread wear, noise reduction and grip performance for EVs.
The EVolution compound used in making the tires, says Hankook, consists of high-concentration silica and eco-friendly materials designed to extend tire life by spreading road pressure evenly, and to enhance battery life and extend mileage by reducing rolling resistance. The company further states that its Sound Absorber technology reduces noise and that its EV Contour technology increases rigidity and grip.
