TeraWatt acquires two sites for heavy-duty EV charging hubs in California’s Inland Empire
TeraWatt Infrastructure is taking a comprehensive approach to providing EV fleet charging solutions—the company acquires real estate in strategic locations to build charging hubs that incorporate energy management systems, energy storage and on-site generation.
Now the company has acquired two sites in the Inland Empire region of California, where it will build new heavy-duty EV fleet charging stations. The new sites are located in the Agua Mansa Industrial Corridor and in Fontana, near the I-10 and I-15 interchange. The charging hubs are slated to go live starting in early 2025. Once fully built out, together they will provide over 40 megawatts of power, enough to support up to 500 trucks per day. TeraWatt also has several more nearby sites under contract.
The metropolitan Inland Empire includes industrial cities such as Fontana, Ontario and Rialto, and boasts the largest concentration of warehouses and distribution centers in the country. It’s a primary hub for fleet operations, and—not surprisingly—has some of the worst air pollution in the US. San Bernardino and Riverside counties recently ranked number one and two in the nation for the worst ozone pollution.
