ChargeUK, which says it brings together 18 of the largest companies installing EV charge points in the UK, has announced that the association will invest more than £6 billion in the installation and operation of new EV charging infrastructure by 2030. Plans call for tens of thousands of new chargers this year, doubling the size of the network, according to ChargeUK.

The association says its aim is to work collaboratively with the government and other stakeholders to overcome obstacles and help shape policies and regulations needed to advance the transition to net zero emissions.

“Our commitment to decarbonizing transport, backed by hundreds of millions in funding, has helped to unlock private sector investments,” said Jesse Norman, Transport Decarbonization and Technology Minister.
