US-based Turntide Technologies, a developer of energy-efficient technologies, has launched a lithium-ion nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery pack for off-highway EV applications such as construction, agricultural equipment, marine and rail.
The Turntide lithium-ion NMC battery pack combines NMC cells with an integrated battery management system (BMS) to deliver higher energy density and performance than the previous Hyperdrive battery line. The new Turntide batteries are available in 44 V (4.5 kWh and 6.7 kWh) and 52 V (5.3 kWh and 8 kWh) versions, with air or liquid cooling options. The modular battery packs can connect in series for systems up to 500 V and in parallel for different energy capacities. Turntide also supplies a range of matched inverters to streamline vehicle integration and shorten time to market.
“The construction equipment industry and other commercial vehicle sectors urgently require compact battery solutions with higher energy density, occupying less space and ensuring system durability. Utilizing NMC chemistry, we developed a battery that meets the rigorous demands of commercial use,” said Mark Cox, GM of Turntide’s transport business unit.
