ELECTRIC car charging points will be installed at a busy Bradford filling station to reduce “charge range anxiety.”
The Motor Fuel Group submitted a planning application to add an EV charging area at East Bowling Service Station on Wakefield Road last year.
The plans will see four charging bays installed near the Londis Convenience store at the site, as well as other changes to the garage forecourt.
The company’s application said it was part of a nationwide scheme to roll out more EV charging bays at its sites. It added: “The uneven spread of EV charging facilities hinders the take up of electric vehicles.
JCT600 say charging points need to match electric car demand
“En route charging for longer journeys is deemed crucial to support the shift to EV and reduce concerns about charge ‘range anxiety.’”
Approving the plans, officers said: “The development as a whole is not likely to increase the number of cars visiting the site significantly.”
