Dec. 9—COLUMBIA — At Tuesday evening’s Columbia Board of Selectmen assembly, City Administrator Mark Walter mentioned that the city’s grant request for a number of electrical car (EV) charging stations had been authorised by Eversource Vitality.
The request requires the charging stations to be positioned on the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation constructing, the Beckish Senior Heart, Columbia City Corridor, Horace W. Porter College, the Saxton B. Little Free Library and the Division of Public Works storage.
Eversource will contribute roughly $20,000 for the electrical car (EV) charging stations at every web site. Their whole contribution will probably be $133,455.
In keeping with an electronic mail from Patrice Kelly, senior environmental analyst on the Connecticut Division of Vitality and Environmental Safety (CT DEEP), despatched to Walter on Nov. 29, that they had obtained the city’s software for a VW EVSE ZIP Grant on Sept. 29.
The e-mail mentioned that DEEP had decided that the appliance was administratively adequate. They are going to now start technical evaluation of the appliance.

Walter mentioned at Tuesday evening’s assembly that he would replace the board as the appliance course of strikes ahead.
