Escalent’s Fleet Advisory Hub highlights funding assistance for fleet electrification
According to US data analytics and advisory firm Escalent, nearly six in ten EV fleet decision-makers are not fully aware of the financial assistance available, and, although they expect to learn about EV grants from dealerships, the leading source of information is actually word of mouth.
Escalent established its Fleet Advisory Hub to offer product and service providers insights based on the opinions, ideas and pain points of an audience of commercial vehicle and fleet decision-makers. The site includes data from more than 12,000 businesses representing over 1,000,000 vehicles.
“With a significant gap in expectations vs reality, dealers have an opportunity to educate their customers on the availability of funds to spur EV adoption,” said Lucas Lowden, Insights Consultant and Program Lead of Fleet Advisory Hub.
The Fleet Advisory Hub provides reports from experts on key topics based on audience input as well as perspectives from decision-makers on challenges they face. Its research identifies opportunities, tests ideas, optimizes offerings, identifies worthwhile products and services, and provides the opportunity to submit questions, suggest topics and consult with Escalent experts.
According to Fleet Advisory Hub, one insight its studies have revealed is that fleet decision-makers’ interest in EV adoption is heavily dependent on the efficiency and wide availability of infrastructure support, and that paying for charging solutions tops their list of concerns.
Another chief concern is the current limited distribution of public chargers and the associated charging downtime compared with the ubiquity and speed of gas stations. Fleet Advisory Hub reaches the conclusion that EV product manufacturers and service providers must consider these concerns and find ways to address them to encourage adoption of EV fleet applications.
