Get ready to explore the world of Electric Vehicle with our Intellipaat Podcast episode focusing on How To Make A Career In the EV Industry.
In this video, our esteemed guest, Bhanu Marwaha, the Lead EV Engineer at Simple Energy will tell us “What is the Life of an Electric Vehicle Battery”. Stay tuned.
✅How many years will an EV battery last?
Today, most EV batteries have a life expectancy of 15 to 20 years within the car – and a second life beyond. It’s also worth noting that EV battery technology is still evolving, so as tech develops we expect batteries’ lifespan to increase – as well as becoming cheaper, smaller, and even lighter.
✅What happens to EV after 8 years?
So nothing happens when it hits 8 years old and does NOT need to be replaced. It is just not under warranty any longer, like anything else. That is like asking what happens to your Toyota engine after a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.
✅What will happen to electric cars after 10 years?
EV batteries are made from lithium-ion cells, which are also used to make cellphone batteries. They degrade over the years taking more time to charge and offer less as they grow old. It works similarly for electric cars too, degrading charging and range of the EV in the long run.
