Electric vehicles have firmly entered the mainstream, becoming the most popular cars not only in Norway, but in important segments around the world. In the USA, prime TV advertising slots are now filled with aspirational electric transport, making their aging fossil competitors seem dull and old-word in comparison.
Zero tailpipe emission transport is taking off in other areas too, from electric bikes for tourists and tradies to trucks and public transport. All of this is made possible by extraordinary evolution in battery storage technology, although there are significant environmental challenges to be addressed.
In this special episode, we will explore these issues in detail, considering questions such as:
How rapidly will personal transport evolve over the next decade?
What are the likely roles of EVs and hydrogen vehicles?
What are the risks and opportunities of emerging storage technologies?
We’re delighted to be joined by:
– Impact entrepreneur JC Jung (a co-founder of eBike company Tarform)
– Gabe Cowles, VP of Commercial Strategy and Finance, Urban Electric Power
– Patrick Hartley, leader of CSIRO’s Hydrogen Industry Mission
The discussion will be led by your regular co-hosts Paul Herman (HIP Investor) and Nigel Lake (Pottinger). As always, this episode will be live and interactive, with a particular focus on practical actions that businesses, governments and individuals can take — and the economic and ecological benefits of doing so.
