The Tesla mobile app lets users completely manage every aspect of their Tesla EV, and it’s also possible to add and remove payment methods.
The Tesla mobile app is packed with features, and among them is the ability to manage payments. The app has proven to be a unique means of remotely accessing one’s Tesla. For instance, it can be utilized to unlock/lock the EV or even serve as a self-diagnostic tool and confirm a problem already experienced by the user. The app also comes in handy for managing other Tesla products like the Powerwall or Wall Connector. The app is available on both Android phones and iPhones.
Whether it’s for paying a lease, loan, or even renewing the Premium Connectivity package subscription, the Tesla mobile app can conveniently handle every task. To add a payment method, users need to open the Tesla mobile app and tap the profile icon in the upper right corner. The next step is tapping ‘Account,’ then ‘Wallet,’ followed by ‘Add.’ Now, follow the prompts to add the payment method. Once done, users can add their default payment method by selecting the ‘Set as Default’ icon. Removing a payment method is similar. In the ‘Wallet’ section of the app, tap ‘Remove‘ next to the payment method. If the removed method is the default payment option, they’ll need to choose another one.
What Else You Can Do With The Tesla App
Tesla EV owners can also use the app to update their Supercharging payment method. The steps are pretty straightforward. Upon opening the app, they should navigate to the ‘Account’ option. Now, tap ‘Charging’ and then ‘Manage Payment.’ For users who are making monthly or leasing payments for a Tesla, it’s also possible to set up Autopay and paperless billing in the Tesla app. To do this, open the app, tap ‘Financing,’ then ‘Payments,’ and go to ‘Preferences.’ Now choose whether to enable or disable paperless billing.
Beyond payment methods, Tesla customers can use the app for a host of other functions. For example, the app can precondition EVs in cold weather to maximize range while driving. Drivers can also monitor available range, charge limits, and charging history. The app also helps EV owners find their nearest Supercharger. Tesla customers can conveniently schedule service appointments through the app. In emergencies, they can also request roadside assistance which covers vehicle breakdowns, flat tires, lockouts, depleted range, and so on.
Drivers can also buy upgrades and subscribe to special services using the app. Features like Enhanced Autopilot and Full-Self Driving can dramatically improve a Tesla’s functionality, provided users can afford it. Account holders can also leverage the app to browse the Tesla shop and buy anything from charging equipment to vehicle accessories to Tesla-branded merch.
