The first Maruti Suzuki EV could break veils at the expo
Maruti Suzuki is looking forward to the upcoming Auto Expo 2023. The manufacturer will showcase a bunch of highly anticipated models at the event. The Maruti Suzuki pavilion will be set up in Hall No. 9, spread over an area of 4,118 m2. The carmaker would showcase the Jimny 5 door, Baleno-based crossover, its first-ever electric SUV concept and the WagonR flex fuel prototype. Maruti Suzuki will give a glimpse of its cleaner and greener, sustainable, and carbon-neutral future with the new lineup of SUVs, Concept EVs, Hybrid, and flex-fuel prototypes on display at the Expo.
The Jimny could simply be the most anticipated automotive model of recent times. Putting an end to years-long wait and anticipations, the manufacturer has confirmed its plans of debuting the SUV at 2023 Auto Expo. Also, a 5-door version of Maruti Jimny is also being readied. The prototype was recently spied testing without camo, and the production form is expected to premiere at the expo.

The Baleno SUV from Maruti is also something we’ve been waiting for. It’s reported that the crossover will come with a mild hybrid engine and could be placed between the Baleno hatchback and the Brezza, upon launch. Kia Sonet and Tata Punch will be the direct rivals of the vehicle.
Despite being an automotive giant, Maruti Suzuki hasn’t quite kept pace with the latest trends in the market, especially the EV boom. Not anymore. It has now confirmed its plans to display the first India-bound all-electric model, at this year’s pavilion. Codenamed YY8, the 2025-bound electric vehicle could come with 48kWh/ 58kWh battery packs, delivering maximum range figures of up to 400 and 500kms respectively.
Sustainability, Technology, Safety, and Connectivity are the pillars of Maruti’s future vision. In keeping with this, the pavilion will be split into four sections: the Sustainability Zone, the Technology Zone, the Innovation Zone, and the Adventure Zone.
Each of these will showcase Maruti’s respective visions. While the sustainability zone enables the visitors to post and support company’s sustainability initiatives on the ‘sustainability tree’, new technologies like the ADAS, V2X, electric hybrid powertrain, etc will be exhibited at the Technology zone. The Adventure zone will have superstar Varun Dhawan, where the visitors can take photos with his 3D character. It’ll also have a rock climbing activity and customised All-GRIP vehicles.

Auto Expo 2023: Dates
Auto Expo 2023 will commence from January 13-18, 2023, at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. January 11 will be exclusively reserved for media. 12th would have the official inauguration ceremony attended by media, special guests and dealers.
